The 2013 U.S. Senior Open will be hosted at the Omaha Country Club. Based on early projections of ticket sales, this will be one of the biggest Senior events in history with 30,000 or more fans per day watching super star Senior golfers like Tom Watson, Fred Couples, Nick Price, Fred Funk, Tom Lehman, Nebraska native Mark Calcavecchia, Nick Faldo Colin Montgomerie, Brad Faxon, Jay Haas, Tom Kite, Rocoo Mediate, Mark O’Meara, Corey Pavin, Nick Price, JeffSlumann, Bruce Fleischer, Craig Stadler and many more.
The USGA has put together a wonderful video describing this event that will occur in the second week of July in Omaha, Nebraska. Take a look… HERE
Mike Root, a member of the Omaha Country Club and owner of FitnessForGolf.com has worked with the Club, top 100 golf teachers and a golf fitness instructor to put together an exclusive 3 Day event based around the 2013 U.S. Senior Open. Because of the unparalleled access to the Clubhouse on Championship Sunday during the final round of the tournament, special one on one time with the golf instructors and the ability to gain golf course access to play the Championship course, this event is limited to 12 spots.
On Championship Sunday there will be a full day of VIP access to the Clubhouse with complete food, drink and big screen TV’s of all the action, not to mention the celebrities wandering through. Of course the Clubhouse is just steps away from the 9th and 18th greens with full grounds privileges all day so you can watch who you want to watch. And as the Champion is determined and toasting his victory, this group will be inside the Clubhouse for an exclusive private dinner celebration.
Here’s a quick video Mike made to discuss the first day of this golf event.
On day two, this group is off to the driving range where we will meet James and Tom Sieckmann. James is a top 100 golf instructor who is best known as being the short game guru who trains the tour pros. Nick Watney, Charlie Wi, Charley Hoffman, and Ben Crane all attribute their success around the greens to the work they have done with James. Tom Sieckmann had a career on the tour and won multiple times. He then went on to train the trainers for the DavePelz golf schools. He is currently head of golf instruction at Omaha Country Club.
Both James and Tom will break the groups up to give small clinics on all aspects of the golf game. The combination of working with each instructor in small groups will be a very powerful morning of golf instruction. In the afternoon, theSieckmann’s will take the group out to the course for playing lessons. Take what you learned on the practice tee out to the course with professional tour pro level instruction.
To hear a little more about this check out the video with Mike Root and Tom Sieckmann did on the first hole of the Omaha Country Club…
Day Three starts with golf fitness. Golf is an athletic sport, and fitness will play a key role in this year’s U.S. Open as the course has lots of rolling hills for four days of competition with all the players walking.
Mike attributes the work he has done with Golf Fitness instructor Bill Esch as his secret weapon in bringing his handicap down four strokes in just one season. Bill is going to devote a morning session to fitness for golf starting with an individualized personal assessment. This will come complete with golf drills and workouts. And then before we go to the first tee for the afternoon’s golf round, Bill will work us through a complete first tee stretching program that will be invaluable.
Bill has more certifications behind his name than most and is an instructor that explains the concepts so the student understands the right way to do things. Bill is the lead instructor for FitnessForGolf.com having worked with Mike on many of the videos that are available for member use. He also has the distinction of holding the national record for Kettle Bells.
When the Golf Fitness session is over, we will head to the Omaha Country Club, site of the 2013 U.S. Senior Open where we will be one of the first groups to play the course after the pros. See how challenging the rough was or how diabolical the greens were. It is a unique opportunity and another reason why we are limited to only 12 avid golfers.
It will be quite an experience for those 12 who can make the trip to Omaha to enjoy a Major golf tournament and learn from instructors that are top of class. Here’s a video from Mike summarizing all that is involved…
